What I Did Today

Today I started a new bible study at my church. Once Grayson was born, we decided that the church we had been attending was just too far away from home. We started attending Canyon Hills with my parents. The worship is amazing, the sermons challenging, and from what we can tell the fellowship will be good, so I think we'll be calling it home.

I went into the church nursery this morning intending to just change Grayson's diaper and then take him into the class with me. Well...I started talking with the ladies working in there, and they convinced me to leave him in the nursery! It was the first time I had left him with someone other than my parents. I was really nervous, and the women could easily tell that I was a first time mom. :) However, the women seemed very nice, and there were only two other babies with three women.

I went into the bible study with a buzzer to call me back just in case Grayson got too fussy. With only 20 minutes left of the class, and the room was silent as we pondered a question presented by the facilitator. All of a sudden my buzzer went off! It was very loud and startled everyone. :) It turns out that Grayson had been doing really well, but started crying when he woke up from a nap. He soon calmed down and fell asleep in my arms for the rest of the class.

I felt so blessed by the sweet women volunteering in the church nursery. It was such a treat to have that time in the bible study kid-free. I was able to focus on spending time getting to know other women in the study and learning about God's love for me. Such a blessing!

The sun was shining bright this afternoon, everything is in bloom, and the outdoors were calling my name. I loaded up Grayson in the stroller and set out for a brisk walk. Great workout.
We're about 2 weeks away from closing on our first home! I can hardly believe it! It's much bigger than the condo we had been living in, so I'm on the hunt for furniture. I'm currently searching Craigslist for a dresser for Grayson's room. This one is a possibility.
