These past few weeks have been incredibly busy. With each box that I unpack, it seems another magically appears. Weird. The upside to having all of these boxes is that every day feels a little like Christmas. Most of these boxes were sealed up 10 months ago when we moved in with my parents. However, some of these boxes were packaged about 3 years ago when we moved home from our time in Spokane. Each of the treasures I have been unpacking hold so many memories. Our china, lovingly given as wedding gifts from friends and family, frames holding pictures of sweet memories, and trinkets collected over time each holding a special meaning. This makes opening the boxes a little more bearable.
There has been so much happening in the Lewis household. Adam is busily working away at his job at Cornerstone Advisors. We both feel so blessed by everything his job has to offer. I have been spending some time lately working on my company, Bluebird Signature Events. I have a few weddings that I'll be coordinating this summer, so I have been getting geared up and ready to go for those. I'm looking forward to working in that role again.
Grayson keeps growing in leaps and bounds every day. Each day is different and holds something new. This morning he pulled himself into a sitting position by holding onto my fingers, and then he decided that he'd just keep going and stood up! He did it a dozen or so times throughout the day! I tell you what...I wouldn't be surprised if this kid goes straight to walking and just skips the whole crawling thing! :)
At his four month appointment, Dr. Parish gave us the ok to start giving Grayson rice cereal. She said he would tell us when he was ready. Since he's been giving us the stare down every time we eat in front of him, we decided that it was time. Tonight I mixed up organic brown rice cereal with a little apple dee-dee (that's what Adam grew up calling apple juice). At first Grayson wasn't sure about it. He scrunched up his face and most of the cereal fell out of his mouth. But by the next bite, he was grabbing the spoon with both hands, trying to get more of this manna from heaven into his mouth!
Grayson has had some trouble sleeping lately, so my hope is that this extra bit of goodness in his tummy will be the trick to getting him to sleep a little deeper and a little longer. My real hope and prayer is that it would help him to consistently sleep through the night. We'll see how tonight goes!
