Memorial Day Weekend 2010

We spent last weekend at the cabin with my parents and Katelyn and Kerry. It was a much needed weekend away. It feels like we have been going in warp speed lately. Between taking care of Grayson, unpacking, Adam's more than crazy work schedule and just the day-to-day commitments...we've hardly had time just to sit and be. So we slept in (thank you Adam for watching Grayson), watched movies, read books, the boys played golf, and we spent time with family.
A tradition that I think isn't celebrated enough in my generation is putting flowers on the graves of family members for Memorial Day weekend. My grandma reminisced with me about how all of her life it was just something that everyone did. Even though the original purpose of this weekend was to remember those who have fought for our freedom, I think it's a perfect time to also remember your heritage and family who have passed.
My mom, sister and I went to the cemetery in Wenatchee along with my aunts and grandma to put flowers on the graves of family members buried there.
It was a really great experience, and a special time spent with family. We also took a little side trip to this amazing store. I think it's good that we don't have a store like this at home...it's a dangerous place to go! Ha!
My cousin Lauren was able to finally meet Grayson for the first time. Being the gentleman that he is, Grayson greeted her with a handshake.
Grayson was practically perfect in every way. He just loves being with family and getting loved on. (Thank you Lauren for these cute pictures!)
