We've spent the past week up at my family's cabin on Lake Wenatchee. It is one of my favorite places, and one of the retreats I can go to for pure relaxation. Grayson and I went over on Tuesday with my parents, and Adam joined us on Friday. Katelyn, Kerry, my Aunt, Uncle and cousins were there as well.
I'm pretty sure that Grayson loves it there just as much as I do. He played hard, laughed, smiled and talked the entire time, and slept amazingly. Oh how I love that boy!
We had some wild weather. The first few days were hot and we spent them soaking up the sun. The weather made a quick shift, and we had a thunder and lightning storm that actually started 75 forest fires! The smoke from the fires drifted our way which made for some amazing sunsets.
Grayson loved playing outside. This is a picture of him in his new sneakers. He wasn't wuite sure about them. He spent most of the time staring at his feet. Ha!
We read a lot, played games, watched movies, of course made a trip to the Cheese Monger in Leavenworth and Plain Hardware. We floated on the "Relaxation Station", and enjoyed time with family.
If we weren't by the water or on the deck, we had a paint brush in hand at the big cabin. We painted the main cabin this week. It was a BIG job, but we had a lot of hands to help. It wasn't done when I left, but it's looking really good! It's amazing what a fresh coat of paint can do!
There isn't a tub at the cabin, so Grayson took his baths in the kitchen sink! Ha! He didn't seem to mind!
Grayson loves hats. One of his favorite games to play with Papa is "Get the Hat". Papa is always willing to play. :)
I feel so blessed to have been able to spend an entire week at the lake. Such a beautiful place with so many wonderful memories made.
