Grayson's Birthday Par-tay

These photos have been sitting in my camera for far too long! Back in the first weekend of January we had a family birthday party for Grayson. In honor of his love for all things construction, it was a Bob the Builder theme. He LOVED it!

As guests arrived Grayson directed them to place the gifts next to the fireplace (there was no coaching from me. That was just where he decided he'd like to open the gifts I guess.). We shared a meal together and then let him rip into his gifts.
The new Mommy, Daddy and Christian. This was his first big outing other than a trip to Target (funny...that was Grayson's first outing as well).

Grayson was so excited to open his gifts. He loved them all too, and was so thankful. That was a happy sight for this mom to see.

Mr. Potato Head

Rip!

After gifts we played our game. They worked together in pairs to build the biggest tower out of blocks. We have some good builders in the fmaily. They must have been watching a lot of Bob the Builder as preparation for the party. Ha! Grayson was always standing nearby to offer his services of knocking down the towers after completion.

I made construction signs to put all over the house. The "Dig In" sign was next to the food for dinner. There are some days when I think I should just put that warning sign on our front door! Haha!

The birthday cake was a mud pie cake. It's topped with crushed oreos to make it look like the digger is scooping up dirt.

I love my mom is this picture. She's laughing so hard because Grayson was singing along with us as we sang Happy Birthday to him. Between my dad, Adam, Christian, Jesus and himself, Grayson has been practicing that song quite a bit over the last few months!

Blowing out his candles.

We took our mud pie downstairs to watch a little Bob the Builder. I had to laugh when I realized Grayson had left the room and my entire family was still sitting watching the movie. Haha!

Happy birthday sweet Grayson!
