This Easter we woke up early and went to church. It was our week to serve in the nursery, so we went to the early service. It made for a long morning, but Grayson did surprisingly well. We worked in the room across from Grayson, so we were able to look in on him every now and then. At the beginning of class he and his best friend Tommy were sharply dressed. My mid-way through, they were shirts untucked, suspenders off, hair askew, and wrinkled clothes. Boys will be boys!
We were reminded in church about the hope we have because of Jesus' resurrection. What a good and mighty God we serve!
I love my sweet family. What a joy to spend this day together!
Smile!
Loves his Papa!
My family (missing Kerry who was still in Africa). Love them!
We had my Dad's entire side of the family over to my parent's house. It was a houseful! I loved watching all of the little kids playing together.
We did an egg hunt for the little kids first. They each had 10 eggs to find in the front yard. Grayson did a great job this year at actually putting the eggs in his basket.
Checking out his loot after the hunt. Grayson ate more sugar that day than he'd had in his entire young life. Before dinner I caught him several times with a mouth of jelly beans he'd scored from little Easter baskets set out on the dinner table. Then we let him have bites of dessert (and I'm sure he got bites from several other family members). And to top it off he got candy in the egg hunt! Talk about a sugar high!
Grayson "oves" his Uncle Carl. He's showing Carl his stash.
Playing basketball with the big boys. Grayson spent most of the day running around outside with the kids, going on bear hunts upstairs and pretty much loving every moment of the day.
After all the family went home, we sat outside and opened Easter baskets. We gave Grayson a few books, cars and a puzzle. He loved it.
After opening his gifts, he did what any boy would do...he dug in the dirt. :)
My sweet nephew Christian. What a doll surrounded by Easter eggs! He was such a good sport to let Katelyn and I snap several photos. Love that sweet boy!
Happy Easter! I hope you had a great day celebrating the resurrection of our Lord!
