Adam has taken on a marketing component to his job that has been taking him to Alaska for work a few times a year. This time, Stan and Joan asked if Grayson and I would like to tag along. How could we pass that up?! So we boarded the plane and took off for a northern adventure.
We went to an animal preservation that was just incredible. We got up close with some amazing creatures.
When Grayson got tired of looking at the animals, he discovered a construction site. I think he was just as excited about getting up close to the digger as he was about the animals!
Teaching Grandpa about crawler tracks.
One of the bears doing tricks in hopes of getting the coveted ground beef for dinner time.
These bears were huge!
We also visited the Anchorage Zoo.
Grayson loved seeing the polar bears, moose and giraffe, but his favorite part was the petting zoo.
The last time we were in Alaska we looked for moose the entire time we were there. We took at least two drives to places that are known to be filled with moose in hopes that Grayson would see his first Alaskan moose. We had no luck. This time we were driving out of Stan and Joan's neighborhood when we saw a mama moose...AND her baby! The baby was trying to find a way into the gate to be with its mama. What a treat!
Adam and I were able to go on a walk together. It always feels like a treat when we get a little date night together. Just time to talk, enjoy spending time together and enjoy the beauty of God's creation all around us.
Here is my 21 week baby bump.
Not a bad view.
Of course we had to have dinner at Moose's Tooth. Grayson wore his t-shirt for the occasion. Just before dinner some of Stan and Joan's friends stopped by the table to say hi. Grayson shook hands with some of them and listened to the conversation, then he leaned over to me and said with a huge smile, "We're making friends!". I love the things he says!
Playing in the park.
He was thrilled to discover a Lightening McQueen he could ride in at Toys R Us.
On another date with my hubby. We went to Starbucks. He worked while I sipped a hot coffee while reading a book...I felt very spoiled.
Going back home. Grayson brought his backpack filled with activities and snacks for the plane. He was very proud of it, but had a hard time letting it go at security. We had to explain several times that he didn't need to worry because he would get it back in a minute.
Thank you Stan and Joan for making this such a fun trip for us!
