Dr. Shaunie Kees will be our doctor, and I really like her already. As she was listening to my heart she said, "Oh! You're nervous aren't you!". Yes, I was but Dr. Kees quickly put me at ease. Everyone I have met in that office has made me feel incredibly welcome, and that no question I may have is too silly to ask. Dr. Kees was no different, and I am really going to like meeting with her throughout this pregnancy.
After answering a few questions and doing a quick physical, she brought in the ultrasound machine. This is what we saw...
"Little Beaner", as Adam as been calling the baby, was moving all around. In fact he or she looked like they were trying to use a hula hoop! It was quite adorable. Adam and I couldn't take our eyes off of the screen. I realized after I got home that I was actually farther along then indicated on the ultrasound photo (at the time I was 10 weeks 3 days), so I'll have to ask about that when I go in for my next appointment on June 24th.
Now that I have seen the baby that has been slowly growing inside of me, it all feels so much more real. I'm just so in awe of the creativity of God's creation. How amazing is it to think that God already knows the smallest details of this baby's life. He knows its personality, its likes and dislikes, who it will be and the choices he or she will make.
Psalm 139: 13-16
13 For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother's womb.
14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.
15 My frame was not hidden from you
when I was made in the secret place.
When I was woven together in the depths of the earth,
16 your eyes saw my unformed body.
All the days ordained for me
were written in your book
before one of them came to be.
I just talked to Katelyn and she shared the news! How exciting!!!!! I can't wait to hear updates.
