Tick Tock Tick Tock

It's official. Grayson loves his current home and has decided to stay in there as long as possible! The due date (Christmas Day) came and went. In fact, I'm now 9 days overdue. All I can say is...stick a fork in me!

I was curious to find out the latest a baby has been born past his/her due date. I found an article from 1945 in Time Magazine that told of a woman who was pregnant for 365 days. For awhile I thought that Grayson was waiting to be the first baby born in the new year. Apparently you can get all sorts of great baby swag and your picture in the paper. Well, now I'm convinced he's trying to break the longest pregnancy record! (I am however very glad that he won't be sharing his birthday with Jesus. Having a birthday on Christmas Day would be tough!)

Thank goodness for modern medicine. This morning I had a type of balloon put in that will help dilate me further and speed along labor. I'm crampy and uncomfortable now, but if it will reduce my labor time by four hours than I'm all for it! Tomorrow morning I head to the hospital to be induced. They will hook me up to pitocin to get this show on the road. So unless I have an incredibly long labor, my baby's birthday will be January 4th!

Tomorrow I'll hold my child in my arms, look him in the eyes and dream of all that God has planned for him. I feel so blessed to be a part of this sweet boy's journey. Adam will have his laptop with him tomorrow, so there may be an update posted if he decides he'd like to make his blogging debut. Otherwise, I'll be back on in a few days to post pictures of my son!
