Last weekend Adam and I were able to celebrate an early Valentine's day. It was a very much needed date night. We got all dolled up and went to Salty's on Alki Beach in Seattle. The food was absolutely amazing! I also treated myself to a small glass of wine with dinner. Delish!
How was I able to be away from Grayson, a nursing baby? My mom offered to not only babysit, but to also give him a bottle. We did two trial runs before the big night out. The first night was not so great. Grayson wailed and wailed and almost wouldn't even take the bottle from me. Night number two was a little better. He took the bottle from my mom, but only while he was laying on his changing table (what can I say...the kid loves his changing table!). On the big night out we very nearly needed to come home, but his crying finally wore him out and he gave in. My mom was such a blessing to us for watching our sweet little guy, and for putting up with the crying for a few hours without a break!

The next day we headed up north for a birthday party. My cousin has twin boys who were turning one, and Grayson insisted he be a part of the celebration. :) So we packed up and headed on the longest road trip thus far. He did great until the last few miles. Maybe he was just too excited to get to the party!
Here's a picture of the boys enjoying their birthday cakes. I think they must have been on a sugar high for the next few days based on the amount of cake they consumed!

Jill and I tried to get a picture of us with our boys. However, Grayson was fast asleep and her boys were such wiggle worms that they ended up blurred in every picture I got!
too cute! Yay for date night-he's so cute Kyla!
ReplyDeleteKyla - YAY for a night out - Addie wouldn't take a bottle till she was 3 months and got to hungry to wait for me. We tried everything and finally settled on an Adiri (http://www.bestbabygear.com/-adiri-natural-nurser-baby-bottle.html) you might try it out, babies r us used to carry them, but I know that the Overlake Women's clinic has them! They are great and gave us piece of mind that she would eat when we left! Hope that you are enjoying your new little guy!
