The end of July and beginning of August I was able to stay for ten amazingly relaxingly days at the cabin. Grayson was of course there with me the whole time (as were my parents), and Adam and the Day's came up for the weekends. We had extended family coming and going as well.
Most of the time we were out on the beach. We had some great weather, and we took full advantage of it. There were a couple days that weren't as great, but we just went into Plain Hardware or watched a movie.
The Olympics were going on, and Grayson had been watching a little of it with us. When we would declare that he was turning into a fish in the water, his response was, "No! I'm Michael Phelps!". Haha!
The water is very cold there, but the sun was hot enough that we all were in the water...especially G.
Hanging out with Daddy on the dock. The first time Adam took Grayson out there, G was nervous and he held on tightly to Adam's neck. He soon got over that though and was walking around and checking for any fish in the water.
I got to spend some good cuddle time with my nephew, Christian. Yes, I have no makeup on. I think I only did my hair and makeup twice the entire trip, and one time was for family photos (more to come on that later).
Watching the sunset with Grayson before bed.
Getting goodnight tickles.
Talking with Nana.
Grayson spent most of his time on the beach scooping up water in one bucket, and then pouring it into another. Once the bucket was full, he'd dump it out...often on himself.
My Uncle Carl was there working on painting the little cabin and the garage. Grayson LOVES hanging out with Carl, so he was right there to help use the power washer to clean off the siding.
There was a lot of digging going on too. Grayson brought his construction equipment outside and made it his duty to make pretend roads all over the beach.
We went into Cashmere one afternoon to visit Grandma Lily. Grayson sat and talked with her at the table for awhile, did races with her walker and stole jelly beans.
A little chat outside before bed.
My little fish...I mean, Michael Phelps.
It was the opening of the Sockeye salmon fishing, so we took out the little Fisher-Price fishing pole I used when I was a kid to take G "fishing". We didn't actually even have a hook on the line, but he had a blast casting out the line and watching the bobber go up and down. While we were out on the dock a salmon swam by that was as long as Grayson is tall...It was HUGE! Too bad we didn't have any bait!
Catching waterfalls.
Swimming with Papa.
Jumping to Daddy...over and over and over! You had to pay attention because G would just jump right off the dock to you whether you were watching or not! He has no fear of the water!
Watching the sunset with my hubby on our 7th anniversary. I am one lucky woman to be married to such an amazing man.
Taking a very hot walk through Leavenworth.
Telling stories with Nana.
A sweet kiss...and then he attacked her with raspberries on her cheeks!
Getting belly laughs from Christian every time my Dad would pretend to hiccup. Hilarious!
This pregnant lady needed a milkshake for the drive home so we stopped at the 59'ner Diner. G tried on silly glasses while we waited.
What a great time we had at one of the most relaxing and beautiful places I've ever seen.
