My Grandma Lily was called home to be with Jesus. She was such a special woman, and I feel blessed to have so many memories from throughout my entire life that involve her. From frozen Snickers bars devoured after a summer swim in her pool to listening to records of her beautiful voice to calling on Halloween to hear her cackle to her vice grip hugs to watching her giggle as Grayson tried to teach her to use the ipad. There are so many memories that I will remember forever.
I know she is dancing with Jesus now, but I still miss her.

My mom, Katelyn and I went over to Grandma's house the day before the funeral. The previous week has been a whirlwind. We were blessed with nearly a full week of time in the hospital before she passed, so we had the opportunity to say goodbye to her. When we walked into the room, her eyes lit up. She couldn't talk, but her eyes spoke volumes. She gave hugs, held hands, and Grayson was happy that he made her smile (that was what he said he wanted to do for her). Even though we were given that time, it still felt completely surreal that she was gone. I had thought going into her home would help make it fell a little more real. It didn't. It felt strange to be in the house without her. Too quiet.
The funeral the next day made it more real. We braved the smoke from the fires surrounding the area for a graveside service, followed by lunch at my Aunt and Uncle's house. It was perfect to be able to look through pictures of her, tell stories and be with family.
We love you Grandma.
