Little Miss is already eight months old! I feel like every month has flown by, but this past month in particular I have been really recognizing how fleeting these sweet baby months are. Gone are the newborn days. It is truly bittersweet though because although I miss a lot about Makenna being a newbie, there are so many special things I'm experiencing with her now.
Her personality is simply amazing. She is quiet. Taking her time to soak in all that is around her. Her brother who talks a mile a minute to her. The sights and sounds of her surroundings. Then...she opens up. She gabs, coos, and giggles. Her favorite is to sit on your lap and talk just one on one. Her little noises are starting to sound more like words. She waves and says something that sounds like "hi". She's also on the verge of saying "dada".
She adores her brother more than anything in the world! He can always get her to smile. She especially loves when he dances for her. He loves to show her his moves (which are getting really good. I think a hip hop class may need to be in his near future).
She loves to be around people. And continues to be a very laid back baby.
She loves kisses and cuddles. I still adore our mornings together in the early hours. She is content to play on my bed, get tickles, nibble on her toes and loves to have her cheek rubbed.
Makenna is a girly girl who loves all things glittery, sparkly and shiny. She loves to play with my jewelry.
She loves to be outside, and we go for walks often. This month she went on a swing for the first time and loved it.
She still isn't the best sleeper at night. She's great about napping, but nighttime is another story. Lately se's been having trouble going to bed at night, and she continues to wake up at least once needing either a diaper change, paci or both before falling asleep again. We're working on it. Sleep training has not be very effective with her.
She's wearing size 3 diapers and mostly 9 month clothes. We have been blessed by some dear friends sharing clothes with her, so she is quite a fashion plate.
She loves playing with toys. In the morning it's mostly rattles and stuffed animals. With Grayson, she loves to check out his dump truck and blocks. She also loves her jumperoo and always sleeps with her bunny blanket which Grayson named "Bunny Bunny".
This girl can eat! Goodness! She's nursing three times a day and eating three meals of solid food. She was on a strict diet of "P" foods to help her get regular, so her favorites have been peaches, prunes and pears. She loves just about anything I've given her though with the exception of plain rice cereal.
This little peanut is a joy. She has added so much to our family. A true treasure.
