On August 5, 2005 I married my best friend. This weekend I celebrated being married to the man I love for five years. It was also our first night away from Grayson. He had a sleepover at Nana and Papa's house, and spent his time getting kisses and making them laugh.
Our first stop on our day out was to Paseo's in Fremont. It's a hole-in-the-wall Caribbean restaurant that is continually on the top 10 list of restaurants in Seattle. Well...I completely understand why it's ranked so high. The sandwich I had was incredibly delicious and flavorful, and completely worth the 40 minute wait in line!
With our tummys full we headed to downtown Seattle, and made a pit stop at a favorite coffee shop called Bau Haus for an iced coffee. We walked around sightseeing and shopping, and of course made a stop at Pike Place Market.
For dinner we headed over to The Kingfish Cafe for some southern style creole food. Again...amazing food! We topped it off with a mint julep. Delicious.
After dinner we stumbled upon a small block party with a band doing Johnny Cash covers. If you know Adam, then you know we had to stop and listen. We finished our day with a late night happy hour stop at the Melting Pot for chocolate fondue. When we started scrapping the fondue pot for the last morsels of chocolate we knew it was time to go. We spent the night at the Bellevue Westin. It felt incredibly luxurious to sleep in until 9, take a 10 minute shower and to actually take my time drying my hair.
It was a perfect day, and I feel blessed to be married to such an amazing husband.
