I love traditions. They bring with them old memories of Christmas' past. They fill me up with Christmas Spirit and cover the season with magic and excitement. We have many traditions that I hold dear, and as our family grows we start to make our own new traditions. Last year we started one that we hope to continue for many many years. Adam took a Monday off from work, and we ventured as a family into downtown Seattle.
Our first stop was The Sheraton to gawk at the amazing gingerbread creations. They were over the top fabulous this year. So many details!
Next stop was the Fairmont Olympic Hotel for the Teddy Bear Suite. It is a single suite that has been decked out with beautiful Christmas decorations and teddy bears of all sizes. Since we were there on a Monday, there were hardly any other visitors and the kids got to hang out on the plush bed for awhile.
Next stop was an impromptu ride on the Seattle Great Wheel. None of us had ever been on it, and we were all excited. It was a frigid day, so we enjoyed the heated cars we sat inside of for the ride! The kids were real troopers with the cold weather that day.
As we started out over the water I told Grayson to look down and see if we could see a whale. At that moment a huge seal went swimming by!
We ended our adventure with a (bread) bowl of chowder from Pike Place Chowder. Delish!
We all had so much fun just enjoying our city, spending time together and celebrating Christmas!
