Adam played hooky from work and our family of three went into downtown Seattle for the afternoon. There are so many fun things to experience there during the holidays. The hustle and bustle of shoppers, the lights and especially the Macy's star, the Salvation Army bells, the warm coffee and sweet treats and Santa sightings. We soaked it all in.
Our first stop was to the Teddy Bear Suite at the Fairmont Hotel. The hotel was decorated in all glitz and glamour, and we followed the signs to the suite. We waited excitedly in line in the hallway (I'm guessing the don't book the rooms near the suite during the holidays since it wouldn't be very relaxing to hear dozens of kids making a ruckus outside your door). We were escorted into a room decorated to the nines and filled to the brim with all sizes of teddy bears. Grayson wasn't quite sure what to do, but eventually settled on hugging every bear he possibly could. He then had his first candy cane on the way out. I'd say it was a good start to our day.
We stopped in at the Sheraton to view the gingerbread house competition. The "houses" were monsterous creations bigger than four Graysons put together. Wow. Worth the wait in line.
By that time, all of us were ready for food so we stopped in at MOD Pizza. Delicious.
Little greybean had had enough at that point, so we headed on home...but first we let him wave hi to Santa.
"Hi Santa!"
I love my little family!
