This year we traveled up to Alaska for Thanksgiving. Adam was already there on business, so it was my first (and hopefully last) attempt at flying with both kids on my own. They actually did really great. The most tricky part was the four trips we had to make to the bathroom while on the plane!
We made it there in one piece, and then the fun began! Stan told Grayson that he wanted him to help shovel off the fresh snow on the deck. To this Grayson replied, "I'm too busy. I forgot my shovel". Well, he decided to make time to help Grandpa...and Stan magically found an extra shovel for G to use.
Makenna loved checking out the new toys and playing inside where it was nice and toasty warm.
Each time that G went outside for shoveling or sledding, he was rewarded when he came inside with a big cup of hot cocoa.

I love these pictures. Stan told me he felt like I was the paparazzi with all the pictures I was taking, but it was hard to get good ones of all of them together! I love how the kids are just hanging out on Grandpa.
Reading a kids cookbook with Grandma.
Makenna loves to sing, and she was really loving using the microphone to belt out some tunes.
I think this little girl is going to play some sort of sport when she's a little older. She loves them all!
Alex and Kellie came up a couple days after us. The kids were thrilled to have them around.
On Thanksgiving, Grayson asked if he could help make something. He helped Kellie make the corn casserole. He threw in a few pieces of his bread because he thought we'd like the flavor. He also may have spit a bite back into the bowl after I told him he shouldn't eat the uncooked egg.
Family was warned...and they still ate the casserole. No one was poisoned.
I loved her sweet Thanksgiving dress.
Pretending to be a cowboy.
Playing tackle. Makenna loves to pat on Grayson's head...he thinks it's hysterical.
I snuck the kids upstairs for a couple pictures recreating memories from last year's Thanksgiving.
She's changed so much in just one year!
The family.
She is absolutely amazingly beautiful!

Alex and Kellie.
Very excited about his new toy and the fact that he'd just watched the movie Planes. He told us as we were getting ready to watch the movie that he's "had dreams about watching this movie!". He was so into watching the movie that he refused dessert. That is unheard of from this boy!
Joining in on the conversation.
This was one of the only good shots of Adam and I from dinner. All others, and there were many more, will never see the light of day.
The next day we flew home. We jumped right into Christmas festivities with attempt number one (there were three, with the third being successful) at getting a tree, and decorating the house. Christmas music is now blasting in our house!
